Paul: It would be great for some retro-theater to show these Castle films they way they were originally rigged. I would be a regular patron! I wouldn't doubt someone was tripping when they came up with the basis of this film.

Mark: This is one movie that would have been fun to see in the theater. I was too young to see it when it was first released, but I doubt that any movie theaters in a small Indiana town would have been wired for “Percepto.”

As a Vincent Price fan, I think you’re absolutely right about his gifted ability to speak nonsense and make it sound plausible. (He could have gone into politics. There are plenty of politicians who have the talent to make intriguing speeches, yet in reality don’t actually say anything.)

The color scene was lost to me on my early viewings, since we didn’t have a color television back in the 60s. But watching the hand emerge from the bathtub of blood was still a little unnerving. Actually, I remember wondered how long the person had to hold their breath.

Your description of the Tingler is amusing and quite accurate. I wonder if someone besides Dr. Warren Chapin was taking LSD to come up with such a fantastic premise, namely the writer and director. No matter, it’s still a fun film to watch and a classic William Castle movie.
